Atletismo y música

Ante la pregunta de ¿Para qué sirve el atletismo? hay múltiples respuestas: Escuela de vida, formación en valores, cultura del esfuerzo, amistad y compañerismo, salud, apoyo emocional, etc. Hoy traigo una respuesta adicional: catalizador creativo.

He leido el ejemplo del artista Bob Seger que creó una canción pensando en el atletismo que practicó de joven, en la modalidad de cros, y habla de cuando uno no se quiere resignar ante las adversidades a las que nos enfrenta la vida, sino que lucha y lucha por seguir adelante. Esa canción es "Against the wind", vale la pena conocerla.

La letra habla de un amor de juventud, más tarde perdido, las falsas amistades, las dificultades propias de la vida, las deudas, comisiones. Igual que cuando corres contra el viento, luchando o buscando refugio. Supervivencia en estado puro, rendirse nunca.
